Title: Wuthering Heights
Author: Emily Brontë
ISBN: 978-1-85326-001-8

Wuthering Heights has always remind me of Kate Bush's 70's hit of the same title.

But I did not know about the story nor who Heathcliff was. So I decided to read the book and put some knowledge on me about this classic of English literature.

Well. I did not enjoy it.

I could not get to like Catherine at all. It reminds me of Flaubert's whimsical Madame Bovary character. Neither could I connect with Heathcliff's grumpiness.

The book run for pages and pages on neighbor/family hatred, which was not as cruel as to be appealing. About this aspect I find La Barraca by Vicente Blasco Ibáñez much more interesting.

By the end of the book conflicts cease, out of thin air. Peace and love reign again in an uninspiring manner.

I leave the book for English audiences to enjoy. It was not for me.
